Top Ten Tuesday is an original weekly feature created by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is Top Ten ALL TIME Favorite Books Of X Genre. The Broke and the Bookish is being really mean and making us narrow our favorites down. It’s going to be hard to do, but I think I can handle it…maybe. My genre is going to be New Adult for this post and I couldn’t just stick to top ten. I had to go Top 17 in no particular order. Even then, I feel like I’ve left some out. 🙁 For some of these, if I loved the entire series, I’m just picking the first book. If you click on the book cover, you’ll be taken to the Goodreads page for that book.
I probably should have picked a genre I love less. LOL. So, here we go. In no particular order…
1. The Deal by Elle Kennedy
2. Bright Side by Kim Holden
3. Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover
4. Nine Minutes by Beth Flynn
5. Addicted to You by Krista & Becca Ritchie
6. There is No Light in Darkness by Claire Contreras
7. Him by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy
8. One Tiny Lie by K.A. Tucker
9. The Year We Fell Down by Sarina Bowen
10. You and Everything After by Ginger Scott
11. Left Drowning by Jessica Park
12. My Perfect Mistake by Kelly Siskind
13. More Than This by Jay McLean
14. Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan
15. Making Faces by Amy Harmon
16. Easy by Tammara Webber
17. Sincerely, Carter by Whitney G.
I know there are so many of my favorite NA authors and books missing from this list, but I had to narrow it down, so…
Confession: New Adult scares me!! I tried to read a few and was NOT feeling them whatsoever. I’ve always heard great things about Easy and if I ever go back to that genre, I’m putting it high on my list 🙂
Lol. I can understand why. There’s so many different types of NA books. I guess you just have to find one that speaks to you. 🙂
I haven’t read any of these, but I just added THERE IS NO LIGHT IN DARKNESS to my TBR list on Goodreads. It sounds like a good one. Thanks for the heads-up!
It’s a good one if you like a little bit of suspense and mystery. I absolutely love Claire Contreras’ writing. I hope you enjoy it!
Wow, that’s a lot of new adult titles! We share some similar faves like Sarina Bowen, Elle Kennedy and Tammara Webber. I need to look up the ones from your list that I haven’t read yet.
Yeah, I couldn’t limit it! I kept finding more I love. I hope you found some new ones on here that you’ll enjoy.
I loved The Deal and Easy!
Yay! They’re so good!
I loved Ugly Love. Really liked Left Drowning too. You’ve got some great picks on here! 🙂
Thank you! 🙂
Picking your favorite of all time is tough, isn’t it? When people insist on asking me that, I answer with my current favorites of all time. Is that a contradiction? Nah.
It so is! I think your solution is perfect!
Making Faces is one of the my favorite books ever! Archer’s Voice is also good, and Sincerely, Carter. Good list.
Thank you! I had a hard time picking an Amy Harmon book. They’re all so good!
I usually only read YA. Out of your list, however, I have read EASY and I loved it. I also enjoyed PAPER PRINCESS by Erin Watt, as well; it’s more NA than YA.
Jessica @ Pore Over the Pages
Paper Princess is definitely more NA than YA. If you enjoyed it and are looking to try more NA, I’d highly suggest The Deal by Elle Kennedy. She’s one half of Erin Watt. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
Ahhh yes! The Deal and Him, and Making Faces, so many amazing books. I love this list!
Thank you so much!
I haven’t read a lot of NA but The Deal would probably be my top NA book – SO well-written, so funny, and very entertaining! Planning to check out Sarina Bowen soon. 🙂
Yes! You’re right. 🙂 I hope you like Sarina Bowen. She’s fairly close to Elle.
I really need to get around to reading Bright Side. I got a copy after you rec’d it but my tbr is seriously never ending ;-;
I hope you enjoy it. It’s not your normal, but I think it’s a great story.
I am still not 100% clear on what constitutes NA. Is it only more contemporary? How is it different than erotica? It’s all a gray area to me, although I think I’d enjoy the genre nevertheless. I just can’t wrap my brain around how they are different.
I think it’s the age range of 18-29. They’re definitely more mature than YA novels.
You picked an interesting genre! Don’t think I have read the books on this list but Colleen Hoover is on my TBR list! 🙂
I hope you enjoy her books! 🙂
NA is a genre I’m really unfamiliar with. I haven’t heard of any of the titles on your list. At first glimpse, after clicking through to read the blurbs on GR, they seem like they’d be pretty fast-paced. Fun list 🙂
They are! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
Soon I will be on the Colleen Hoover train as well. At least I finally bought my first book by her.
Yay! I can’t wait to see what you think. I hope you enjoy it.
I feel like I need to read Bright Side because it shows up on your lists just as much as Falling Kingdoms shows up on mine 😛
Lol. Yeah, it makes all of them. It just had such an emotional impact on me. Made me think about how I live my life. 🙂 I guess I should read Falling Kingdoms!
I don’t read a lot of new adult books but I see some here that I plan to add to my list! 🙂
Yay! I love to hear that. 🙂
I have seen a lot of bloggers mentioning Colleen Hoover (not just TTT related but generally speaking) and I’m curious. Maybe I’ll start with your rec sometime soon.
She’s a great author to try. I love her writing. I hope you enjoy it!
So many on your list. I don’t really read new adult as it is mostly contemporary, and contemporary and I rarely get along which is a shame really. Great list.
Thank you!
