Top Ten Tuesday: Books That Made Me Cry (or close to it)

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday!

Top Ten Tuesday is an original weekly feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s is Bookstores/Libraries I’ve Always Wanted to Visit. I don’t really have any of these at this point, so I’m going to change it up. I’m going to switch things up and go with an old Broke and Bookish theme: Books That Made Me Cry (or close to it).

I chose Books That Made Me Cry because I’ve seen a lot of people lately wanting to read books that are heavy on emotions. These are some of my favorites.

1. Bright Side
Series: Bright Side, #1
Author: Kim Holden

2. Full Tilt
Series: Full Tilt Duet, #1
Author: Emma Scott

3. When It Rains

4. Me Before You
Series: Me Before You, #1
Author: Jojo Moyes

5. Ugly Love

6. Left Drowning

Author: Jessica Park

7. Making Faces

  1. Yes, I bawled after reading Firefly Lane, Ugly Love, and Making Faces. I was a hot mess after The Nightingale, too. And every single Taylor Jenkins Reid book. 😀

  2. I swear I cry every time I read any book by Jojo Moyes. She definitely has a knack for tugging on the heartstrings. CoHo can be just as bad, although I have found some of her books a miss.

  3. It has been a long time since a book has made me cry, but I can easily see Making Faces making me well up. I just need to read it haha.

    1. Those books are ones, along with Bright Side, that had me a complete mess. I think you’ll enjoy Full Tilt — especially knowing there is a second book in the duet.

  4. What a great list.. absolute YES to Bright Side. A Wish for Us is still on my readlist too! The last book I cried over (smiling through my tears though) was Where The Light Gets in by Lucy Dillon. Also This Love by Dani Atkins would be on my list 🙂

    1. If I had to pick one for you to read, it would be Bright Side. It was the one that impacted me the most — as much as Me Before You.

  5. OMG! Following you right now because just above you featured many of my beloved books beginning with Emma Scott, also The Story of Us (sweeter Tillie), Jessica Park, Amy Harmon (my number one author) …. Amazing!
