Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday!
Top Ten Tuesday is an original weekly feature created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s is Bookstores/Libraries I’ve Always Wanted to Visit. I don’t really have any of these at this point, so I’m going to change it up. I’m going to switch things up and go with an old Broke and Bookish theme: Books That Made Me Cry (or close to it).
I chose Books That Made Me Cry because I’ve seen a lot of people lately wanting to read books that are heavy on emotions. These are some of my favorites.
Yes, I bawled after reading Firefly Lane, Ugly Love, and Making Faces. I was a hot mess after The Nightingale, too. And every single Taylor Jenkins Reid book. 😀
I’ve only read TJR’s Evelyn Hugo book. I need to read her other ones!
I swear I cry every time I read any book by Jojo Moyes. She definitely has a knack for tugging on the heartstrings. CoHo can be just as bad, although I have found some of her books a miss.
I agree with both of these comments! 🙂
Making Faces is still one I want to pick up. Will keep tissues close by when I do as I am the kind of reader who gets emotional when I read.
You will need them for this one for sure!
It has been a long time since a book has made me cry, but I can easily see Making Faces making me well up. I just need to read it haha.
Yes, you do!!! 😉
I sobbed hard on When It Rains by Lisa De Jong, Me Before You and Ugly Love. I’m planning to read Full Tilt but my heart isn’t ready yet. lol
Those books are ones, along with Bright Side, that had me a complete mess. I think you’ll enjoy Full Tilt — especially knowing there is a second book in the duet.
What a great list.. absolute YES to Bright Side. A Wish for Us is still on my readlist too! The last book I cried over (smiling through my tears though) was Where The Light Gets in by Lucy Dillon. Also This Love by Dani Atkins would be on my list 🙂
I haven’t read either of those! I’ll have to check them out!
Ugh! Me Before You!!! That one put me into a sobbing mess of tears as well. I will have to check out some of these other titles, too.
If I had to pick one for you to read, it would be Bright Side. It was the one that impacted me the most — as much as Me Before You.
I will put it on my list! 🙂
OMG! Following you right now because just above you featured many of my beloved books beginning with Emma Scott, also The Story of Us (sweeter Tillie), Jessica Park, Amy Harmon (my number one author) …. Amazing!
Yay! That’s so awesome! 🙂
Me before you is heartbreaking- it made me cry too!
I can see why many of these books would make you emotional!
I love that you changed the topic to this one!!! I’m always looking for a good tear jerker read!!! *bookmarks page*
