Welcome to WWW Wednesday!
WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. The purpose is to share what I’ve reading lately. The three W’s stand for:
What did you recently finish reading?
What are you currently reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Recently Read
This past week was a good one. My daughter started school with distance learning. I got to see my family and a couple of friends (physically/socially distancing). The only bad things were that we had wildfire smoke move in from Eastern WA, so crappy air quality. Add in some brush fires locally and 2020 is really delivering.
As for reading… I read a lot of ARCs this week. I read Lies and Lullabies (Hush Note, #1), The Set Up, Snapped (Playbook, #4), and Super Fake Love Song. I also read Yours to Keep (Man of the Year, #2).
Currently Reading
I’m reading Only One Kiss (Only One, #1).
Reading Next
My plan is to read an ARC of Dirty Empire (Dirty Empire, #3).
What are you reading? Make sure to leave me your link below so I can check out your post. π
I’ve seen Dirty Empire floating around and I hope you love it! Happy reading π Here’s my WWW Wednesday post.
Thanks! I bet I will. I loved the first two books.
It must have been lovely to see some of your family and friends this week. I hope the situation with the fires local to you eases soon, it must be horrible and frightening to see that happening. Hope you enjoy your reading this week. π
Here’s my post: https://rathertoofondofbooks.com/2020/09/09/www-wednesdays-37/
It really was. I think we should be doing better with the fires by next week. It’s 90 today, but we’re supposed to get rain by the end of the weekend. At least hopefully we will.
I’m glad you had a good week minus the smoke and brush fires. π
That’s awesome that you were able to read a bunch of ARCs this week. I’m really behind on ARCs, ughh. I don’t know if I’ll be able to catch up on every single one before the year ends, but hopefully I will clear out my Netgalley ones though.
That’s what I’m hoping to do, too.
Isn’t 2020 awful? Good grief. stay safe! I think Super Fake Love Song looks fun!
Yes, it really is. Thanks! I am staying safe.
I am curious about Snapped. Enjoy your week, and thanks for sharing.
It’s part of a sports romance series written by the wife of an ex-NFL player.
How did you enjoy Snapped? Iβm looking forward to it!
I liked it more than I thought I would after reading some of the reviews.
Oh no! Are they terrible?
Some people were not fans. I would be curious to hear your thoughts on it.
You said it! 2020 has been delivering for quite some time! I am excited to find out what you think of the new David Yoon novel. Have a great week! π
Thanks! It wasn’t as good as Frankly in Love, in my opinion.
Looks like a good week, congrats on reading so many ARCs
Thanks! I needed to get them off my plate. π
I’m reading Lies and Lullabies now and can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Dirty Empire!!!
Yay! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts.
I am supposed to actually be getting it tonight, so I should be able to tell you my thoughts soon!
I’m curious to read your opinion of Lies & Lullabies.
I enjoyed it! But I am a big fan of her writing. I’m really looking forward to the rest of the series.
I love her so much but I was kind of disappointed with this one. I’m still trying to figure out why it didn’t click for me.
Ooh, I had no idea the Dirty Empire series was still on-going. I haven’t read it yet although I was intrigued by the first book after reading West’s other series (the W hotel). Is it a trilogy? Looks like you’ve been reading lots of great books π Hope you had a great week!
Yes, the last book comes out this month.
Thanks! You, too!
I adored Lies & Lullabies. And I have such high hopes for Snapped. I loved the first two books but Blitzed was kind of a letdown. I’m hoping that Snapped brings back all the good feelings that I had for the earlier ones. π
I thought Snapped was better than Blitzed, but it read more like Women’s Fiction than Romance.
I’m sorry to hear about the wildfire stuff! That is so crazy. How was the Alexa Martin book?
It really is crazy. We also now have smoke from the OR fires. Our air is so unhealthy. You can see the smoke in it and it’s yellow today. ICK!
I thought Martin’s book was good. I’m probably not the expert on it. I went in with lower expectations and ended up liking it.
Ugh. I’m so sorry! I had a friend that posted a picture on Facebook her dad sent her where he had ashes on his car – and he lives about an hour away from where the fires are. So sad! I hope things start to shape up soon.
I’m glad to hear you liked Martin’s book. I didn’t request an ARC of this one, but I’ll still probably give it a try some day.
Hopefully it moves out like it’s supposed to tomorrow morning. It’s been depressing being stuck inside.
At least youβve had lots of practice to prepare you for it haha.
LOL. Yeah. Now they’re saying it might stick around all week. That will drive me nuts.
2020. The gift that keeps on giving.
Ugh. Yes. And the past couple of days I’m getting a bunch of SPAM pingbacks on my blog. I don’t know what’s going on there.
Sorry to hear about the fires. I hope the situation is better now.
Have a lovely week. Happy reading.
Well, the fire is 65% contained so that is better. We are getting a ton of smoke from wildfires in OR now, so we can’t be outside because the air quality is so poor. π
