More Favorite Book Quotes
1. “I’m thinking deep thoughts like, ‘Hey if Gracie decides she wants to play softball, then she’s gonna have to dream a lot smaller than the little boys playing the same f*cking sport on the field right next door.’ And that kinda sucks, if you stop and think about it.”
-Lauren Rowe, Ball Peen Hammer
2. “The point is . . . sometimes fighting isn’t about leaving, it’s about staying. It takes practice to get it right, and it’s painful, but if you want to stay with people, you do it.”
– Kate Clayborn, Love Lettering
3.“You might preach you’re a mess, but I think you’re pretty f*cking perfect, wreckage and all.”
– Rebecca Yarros, The Reality of Everything
4. “Foster Wallace once said: You’ll worry less about what people think about you when you realize how seldom they do.”
– Emma Scott, The Girl in the Love Song
5. “Some people grow up gradually, the foundations of their childhood steadily sinking into the earth so slowly they barely notice the change. Until one day they’re simply standing on their own two feet with little idea how they got there. Then there are people whose childhoods are smashed to bits in one blow. They topple into adulthood, flailing about for something to hold onto, and the terror of falling leaves a permanent scar on their psyche. Do those people ever end up feeling safe?”
– Kristen Callihan, The Friend Zone
6.“My nana used to say that broken people love the hardest because they appreciate the things that make their heart beat. Do I make your heart beat?”
– Ilsa Madden-Mills, Not My Romeo
7.“We all just take a leap of faith. Sometimes we fall. But we’d never know what it felt like to fly if we didn’t take the risk.”
– Nicole Williams, Fool Me Once
8.“Life is a journey for which we leave little pieces of ourselves behind.”
– Lisa De Jong, Love Unspoken
9. “You’re the type of woman that men don’t know they want until they’ve already fallen. You’re there, and then you’re just…everywhere.”
– Lisa De Jong, Lies Unspoken
10.“Love is complicated, and in its best form, it’s unspoken. It shows in the things we do, not what we say.”
– Lisa De Jong, Love Unspoken
What interesting quotes! Do you collect them as you find them?
My post.
Thanks! Not usually. When this prompt comes up, I think about the books I read that hit me hard and then check the quotes for them on GR.
These are all such great quotes! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Thanks! And thank you for commenting!
I love this one: “We all just take a leap of faith. Sometimes we fall. But we’d never know what it felt like to fly if we didn’t take the risk.” We all want a chance at learning to fly, don’t we?
So true!
These are all great! I especially love the ones from Love Lettering and The Friend Zone.
Thank you! Those books were so good!
How did you find The Reality of Everything? I couldn’t believe it when I saw Rebecca Yarros was publishing another book in that series. The first three are some of my all-time favourite romance novels!

My TTT post
So I am a little late to Yarros’ writing. I just found her books in 2019 with The Last Letter. This year I binged the rest of her series. When I went to mark them as “want to read” on Goodreads, that fifth book was there before it was published. That’s how I knew about it. I would say The Reality of Everything is my favorite in that series, and maybe my favorite of hers all time.
I love that quote from Love Lettering! Makes me want to read the book even more. 🙂
Oh, it’s such a good book! I think you would adore it.
Can never go wrong with book quotes! I see a theme — lots of quotes about love. I understand why, they can be very memorable, and often stand out
Yes, lots of quotes on love. Mostly because they hit me hardest and I read a TON of romance. 😉
I’m always impressed that you have so many quotes to share! I’m the worst at keeping track of those.
Well, I just think of books that hit me hard and then mosey over to Goodreads where I check their pages for the quotes section…
Oh, that’s a good idea!
That Madden-Mills quote is so good. I recently finished the second book and was thinking about that book.
I really enjoyed the second book, but that first book might be my favorite of hers ever.
The Quote from Ball Peen is one of my favourites in all of the series!
Mine, too. It was such a good series, too. It also surprised me that out of all the books, that one had the deepest quote.
Ooo.. “Life is a journey for which we leave little pieces of ourselves behind.” <— such a great quote!!
So true, right?
You can’t go wrong with book quotes! I love the third one and #10 also.
You really can’t. I’m glad you found a couple you liked.
Oh, I like these! I’ve only read one of the books, but I like the different choices you’ve made. I especially like the line: Do I make your heart beat?
I know, right? It’s so sweet and also hits hard.
These are all awesome Deanna. I think my favourite is: “We all just take a leap of faith. Sometimes we fall. But we’d never know what it felt like to fly if we didn’t take the risk.”
– Nicole Williams, Fool Me Once
Thank you! Yes, that is a good one. It’s also a fun novella.
These are great quotes! Some of them, though… ouch. Some are sharper than others.
Yes, they are. Thank you!
I love the Foster Wallace quote! It’s so true.
Happy TTT!

Thank you!
All these are so powerful. The one from Friend Zone hit home with me. Thanks for sharing,Deanna.
Thanks!
Great quotes. I have just done a quote list and add some every week anyway, so I did a twist on my My TTT.
Thank you! I’ll have to check out your list.
That fourth quote is so simple but so effective and definitely holds an air of clarity that we could all use every now and again.
What a great comment! Thank you so much! I agree.
I really love that last quote. Great selection!
Thank you!
Great quotes!
Thanks!
These are great, I especially like the last two. I’ve never heard of the books they’re from but might have to check them out.
Thank you! I hope you do!
Great list of quotes! 🙂

I haven’t read any of these yet, but the quotes are definitely making me want to! <3

I love the quotes you picked. I don’t think I’ve actually read any of the books they’re from.
Thank you! They are fantastic books.
I love that quote form Love Unspoken!

Great quotes! I think my favorite one is from The Friend Zone by Kristen Callihan. I loved that book so much! ❤️
